Our Sapa tour 2 days 1 night pairs a gentle cultural walk through Cat Cat village on Day 1 with the Fansipan cable car ascent on Day 2, giving you both the human side and the high-altitude side of the region in 48 hours.
This Sapa 2-day tour runs on a comfortable private car from pick up from your hotel in Hanoi, follows the Noi Bai–Lao Cai highway northwest and brings you to Sapa town by lunch.
Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Moana
06:30 AM: Greet and transfer to Sapa
Our driver and English-speaking guide pick you up from your Hanoi hotel.
The drive to the mountains takes approximately 5.5 hours via the Noi Bai – Lao Cai expressway, including a short rest stop along the way.
01:00 PM: Have lunch
You arrive in Sapa town. We proceeded straight to a local restaurant for lunch.
Our Vietnam Trails Travel team ensures specific dietary requirements, such as vegetarian or Halal food, are prepared in advance for your group.
Afterward, you check into your hotel and drop off your luggage.
02:30 PM: Cat Cat Village
In the afternoon, the driver and guide start this Sapa tour with a short drive down to Cat Cat Village.
You spend about two hours walking along the paved stone steps to see the traditional wooden houses of the Black H’mong people.

The guide explains the mechanics of the old French hydroelectric station and guides you to the main waterfall where locals gather.
04:30 PM: Moana Sapa
The driver takes you to the Moana Sapa check-in area. Moana view features clear, panoramic views of the Muong Hoa Valley.

You have an hour to take photos at the Bali Gate replica and the Moana statue.
06:00 PM: Return to hotel and rest
We return you to the hotel. The evening is free for you to arrange your own dinner and walk around the Stone Church area.
Day 2: Fansipan Peak – Return to Hanoi
08:00 AM: Reach to Fansipan
The car and tour guide meet you at the hotel entrance and transfer you to Sun World Fansipan Legend cable car station, ten minutes outside Sapa town.
You may pack a small back bag with warm clothes because the temperature at the Fansipan summit drops to 5–10°C even in summer.
You board the Fansipan cable car. This is the world’s longest three-cable cable car system, with each cabin holding up to 30 passengers.
The cable car will take you go up 6,292 meters of length and climbs over 1,400 meters of elevation in 15 minutes.

You can watch Muong Hoa Valley unfold beneath you, with the long terraces of Lao Chai and Ta Van visible on clear days while to take the cable car to the top terminal.
09:00 AM: Arrive at the upper station
From here you have two choices. Walk the 600 stone steps to the summit, which takes 20 to 30 minutes or take the funicular train that covers the same distance in 3 minutes.
09:45 AM: Fansipan peak
You will reach the Roof of Indochina at 3,143 meters above sea level.
You will see that the Summit Pagoda Complex includes the Bich Van Thien Tu temple, a giant bronze Buddha statue and 360-degree viewing platforms.

On clear days you see deep into Yunnan Province in China to the north and across the entire Hoang Lien Son range to the south.
11:00 AM: Take the cable car down to the station
The tour guide will lead you board the cable car back down to Sun World Fansipan Legend station.

11:30 AM: Mountain-style specialty lunch
The driver will drive back to Sapa town. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
The menu will include many specialties in Sapa like: Smoked buffalo meat, grilled bamboo sticky rice, local pork platter (“Cap nach” pork), grilled stream fish, Sapa salmon or sturgeon hotpot, stir-fried chayote shoots with garlic, boiled “mam da” mustard greens.
01:00 PM: Return to Hanoi
Our guide will take you back to Hanoi via the same highway route.
We arrive in the capital at 7:30 PM – 08:00 PM, depend on the traffic.
The driver drops you off directly at your accommodation, successfully concluding your Sapa 2-day tour.

Pack warm clothes: Bring a jacket or sweater. The temperature at the Fansipan summit drops to 5–10°C, even in the middle of summer.

Wear good walking shoes: You will walk on paved stone steps for two hours in Cat Cat Village and have the option to climb 600 steps to the Fansipan peak.

Bring a small backpack: Use it to easily carry your warm layers and personal items on the cable car ride.
