Ho Chi Minh City 1 Day Tour itinerary
07:00 AM: Meet the tour guide and driver
We’ll pick you up right from your hotel lobby in a cool, air-conditioned ride.
Starting early is the secret to beating the intense Saigon humidity and getting the best light for photos.
07:30 AM: Chợ Lớn (Chinatown) & Binh Tay Market
We kick off the morning by immersing ourselves in the vibrant energy of Chợ Lớn, Saigon’s historic Chinatown.

We’ll wander through bustling wholesale stalls where locals trade daily goods, soaking in the rich heritage, authentic street vibes and unique architecture of this legendary district.
08:45 AM: FITO Museum (Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine)
We step into a hidden gem, the FITO Museum. Here, we’ll discover the fascinating history of traditional Vietnamese medicine.

You’ll marvel at the intricate wooden architecture and thousands of ancient artifacts, remedies, and traditional tools that date back centuries.
09:45 AM: War Remnants Museum
We dive into the deep history at the War Remnants Museum. Instead of just rushing through, we’ll take our time here.
This is a heavy but essential start to the day, helping you understand the resilience and spirit of the people you’ll meet later on.

11:00 AM: The Independence Palace
We step into the time capsule that is the Independence Palace.
This was the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam.
We’ll wander through grand reception rooms and then head down into the “War Room” tunnels in the basement where the maps are still pinned to the walls.

12:15 PM: Vietnamese lunch
We pause for a legendary local lunch. Forget the tourist buffets; we’re taking you to a favorite local haunt for a steaming bowl of Phở or some “Cơm Tấm” (broken rice).
It’s the perfect time to chat about local life and refuel for the afternoon.
01:15 PM: Saigon Central Post Office & Notre Dame Cathedral
We take a breezy walk through the French Quarter. You’ll see the Saigon Central Post Office (it’s even more beautiful inside) and the Notre Dame Cathedral.
In 2026, the cathedral is still being restored but you can see the stunning new craftsmanship on the spires that was recently completed.

02:00 PM: Vietnam History Museum
We journey back in time at the Vietnam History Museum. Built in a stunning Indochine architectural style, this museum offers a captivating look at Vietnam’s evolution from prehistoric times to the modern era.
We’ll explore artifacts from ancient dynasties and discover the fascinating Champa culture.
03:00 PM: Jade Emperor Pagoda
We find some peace at the Jade Emperor Pagoda. This is where the locals go to pray for everything from health to hidden desires.
The smell of incense and the intricate wood carvings make this one of the most atmospheric stops on our Ho Chi Minh City 1 Day Tour.

03:45 PM: Tan Dinh Church
We visit the “Pink Church” (Tan Dinh). It’s bright, it’s bold, and it’s a total contrast to everything else in the city.
You can buy souvenirs and silk at locations near the church, as Tan Dinh Market is also famous for its silk.

04:30 PM: Nguyen Hue Walking Street
We wrap up the adventure at Nguyen Hue Walking Street.
As the sun starts to set and the city lights flicker on, we’ll drop you back at your hotel or at a cool rooftop bar at 5:30 PM to toast to a day well spent.
Note: The trip itinerary and pickup times may vary depending on your schedule. The travel itinerary is not fixed. Please confirm your schedule after the booking.
Travel Tips
-
Dress Code: Modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is required for entry to the Jade Emperor Pagoda and Tan Dinh Church. Lightweight fabrics work best for the city heat.
-
Sun Protection: A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are necessary for the outdoor walking sections. The driver parks the vehicle close to each site to limit sun exposure.
-
Shopping Currency: Small Vietnamese Dong (VND) bills are essential for buying silk or snacks at Tan Dinh Market. Credit cards normally only work at large restaurants.
-
Street Safety: Phones and cameras need to be held securely close to the body near busy roads. The tour guide will help you cross the local intersections safely.
