Ho Chi Minh

Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, is the largest city in southern Vietnam. It has almost 9 million people living in it. The streets of Ho Chi Minh City are famously crowded with motorbikes, with more than 8 million motorbikes. So, it is the busiest city in Vietnam.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport (IATA: SGN) is the city’s main airport, connecting it with numerous domestic and international destinations. Besides, Saigon Railway Station, a central railway hub, also serves the city, facilitating travel within Vietnam.

Tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City often explore iconic tourist attractions such as War Remnants Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, Cu Chi Tunnels, Reunification Palace, Ben Thanh Market,… by joining our Saigon tours.

Moreover, Ho Chi Minh City is famous for delicious street food; you don’t miss out on trying local dishes like pho, banh mi, com tam, hu tieu, fresh spring rolls when you travel here.

Highlights of Ho Chi Minh City

CU CHI TUNNELS

The Viet Cong used the tunnels for various purposes: stored weapons and provisions, established makeshift hospitals, and hiding spots and living quarters for their soldiers.

Here, you can explore two sections of the Cu Chi Tunnels: Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc. You will often treated to an introductory film, and observe war-era booby traps and visit an underground conference room. You can taste tapioca, a staple food of the Viet Cong during the war.

You can join our Cu Chi Tunnels & Ho Chi Minh Full Tour to explore tunnels, learn about Vietnam’s wartime history, and even try shooting some guns at the firing range.

Independence Palace

The Reunification Palace, known as Independence Palace, designed by architect Ngo Viet Thu, was completed in 1966. From 1967 to 1975, it served as the residence and headquarters of General Nguyen Van Thieu, who led the National Leadership Committee during that period.

However, in 1975, the course of history changed dramatically when a North Vietnamese tank crashed through the palace gates, marking the pivotal moment that led to the Fall of Saigon and the end of the Vietnam War. This event ultimately paved the way for Vietnam’s complete freedom.

Today, the Reunification Palace is one of the most prominent tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. Here, you can explore grand halls, presidential rooms, and underground bunkers.

Saigon OPERA HOUSE

The Opera House, the Municipal Theatre of Ho Chi Minh City, can accommodate 500 spectators. You can only experience the interior of the Opera House by attending one of the shows. Constructed in 1898, the building reflects the French colonial architectural style and was designed by Eugene Ferret.

It is often regarded as the smaller counterpart of the Hanoi Opera House and resembles the Opéra Garnier in Paris.

Today, the Opera House serves as the A O Show Saigon venue. This extravagant performance seamlessly blends traditional Vietnamese music and dance with the captivating style of Cirque du Soleil.
